'I Will Give You Rest' original painting

Today in General Conference, President Nelson shared a scripture from Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” I love the language of this so much. As someone who struggles with anxiety and depression, I find that my mind is always busy, and feels heavy. The only way I have ever found true rest is through Christ. He has comforted me, calmed my heart, quieted my mind, and with His gentle touch has coaxed me into the person I am meant to be. 

President Nelson said in his talk today, “My plea to you this morning is to find rest from the intensity, uncertainty and anguish of this world by overcoming the world through your covenants with God. … Cherish and honor your covenants above all other commitments. As you let God prevail in your life, I promise you greater peace, confidence, joy and, yes, rest.”

I know that Christ can give us the peace and rest that nothing else can. When I look at this painting I imagine Him watching over and taking care of me, just as tenderly as He does these flowers.
