A painting of Heavenly Father for Father’s Day. I know that everyone’s relationship or lack of relationship with an earthly father looks different. I also know that despite our earthly relationships, Heavenly Father loves all of His children perfectly. His love has carried me through the most difficult periods of my life. I have felt Him holding me in His hands. To me His love is gentle and tender, strong and steady. This is how I picture Him. Full of light, full of love, full of grace and compassion. With deep wrinkles from endless years of watching over His children, and watching them experience such difficult things.

I felt so emotional when I was painting this piece. I think it’s because recently I’ve felt disconnected from God. It’s sad and hard to feel that way. I cling to the belief that He is always holding me. I am trying to always reach for Him, even when it’s difficult. I want Him to be constant in my life.

Seeing this painting in my home will be important to me. Sometimes I forget He is there. When I look at this painting, I feel Him with me, and I remember how He has carried me through my life. I know that God will never abandon us
